Natural Cure For Diabetes - Authors Al and Michelle Snapp Release ‘Eat Great And Lose Weight: The Natural Cure For Diabetes’ At Reduced Pricing

The concepts in the Snapps' new book demonstrate that by simply eating the right foods, readers can not only reduce the risk of Type II diabetes, but can begin to lose weight and feel great in just a few days. Unlike other diabetic diets, the book offers a wide selection of gourmet dishes from which to choose

The 'Diabetes Report Card' (1)  released by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, shows that between 1990 and 2010 the incidence of diagnosed diabetes has nearly tripled. The complications from diabetes can at best be very costly and at worst be deadly. According to the American Diabetes Association website,(2) the average medical expenditures for people diagnosed with diabetes were 2 to 3 times higher than those not diagnosed with diabetes (after adjusting for population age and gender differences).

A major factor in Type II diabetes avoidance and control is diet. However, many of us do not want to face the prospect of eating as we know we should, as this often involves bland and very boring food choices. Authors Al and Michelle Snapp have released ‘Eat Great & Lose Weight: The Natural Cure for Diabetes’. The book offers a simple plan to lose weight and possibly reverse Type II Diabetes and the associated medical costs through simple diet changes that nearly anyone can make. Unlike other weight loss and diabetic food plans, ‘Eat Great & Lose Weight’ features gourmet recipes that help make getting healthy enjoyable.

Al Snapp has always loved good food. As a result, he was overweight and at age 55 suffered a heart attack. Things got much worse when he was diagnosed with Type II Diabetes. His doctor informed him that he could go blind, lose his legs and, in time, the combination may finally kill him. Al and his wife Michelle, a gourmet cook, realized the only course of action was to change their diet and do the best they could do to beat the odds. Though they searched all the information available to them, they couldn’t find a book that offered workable solutions involving tasty and healthy food choices. And so they wrote it.

“Every book we found," stated Snapp, "was confusing, outdated or offered boring and tasteless food selection lists. Therefore, our only choice was to develop our own plan and that's what we did. I continued eating gourmet foods. But in 9 months I lost 90 pounds. I am no longer a heart patient or diabetic and I take no medications. What we accomplished was almost unheard of. We then wrote a book that is simple, easy to understand, up to date and offers an endless variety of really healthy, tasty recipes. We are very proud that the book has been endorsed by a leading Cardiologist, Dr. Claudio Manubens, former Chief Of Staff at Heart of Florida Regional Medical Center.”

‘Eat Great & Lose Weight’ is unique in that the concepts in the book overcome the challenges inherent in following a weight loss or Type II Diabetes eating plan. The foods are inexpensive and gourmet recipes from 'Michelle's Kitchen' are featured throughout the book to help assure that the reader can continue to enjoy the foods they have always enjoyed.

“This book is for anyone,” continued Mr. Snapp, “who has decided to change their lifestyle and become healthy, without using pills or expensive plans. By simply changing what you eat, you’ll eat five times a day, never diet and feel better in days. You can reverse Type 2 diabetes, control heart disease, lose weight and live a healthier life. There’s no guesswork. It’s all in one book and it’s been proven to work.”

Romantic Fiction Versus Erotica - Author Rusty Blackwood Believes The Lines Have Become Blurred

With the recent success of what many may term erotica, many romantic fiction novelists are pondering where to draw the line that separates erotica from traditional romantic fiction. Romantic fiction novelist Rusty Blackwood believes the current trend towards erotica, while attractive for marketing value, is likely short lived and can harm the genre, rather than help it

Canadian Indie author Rusty Blackwood is a romantic fiction novelist. She believes the recent trend of romance authors and writers leaning towards writing erotica for sheer marketing value can effectively eliminate the most important component of the romance novel - the romance.

"What would you honestly crave if given the choice," questions Ms. Blackwood, "romance or erotica? For me the answer is easy. Give me good old fashioned romance any old day. Yes, the physical aspect of love is important, but where does one draw the line, and what would you give to have someone honestly care for you - love you beyond all reason - for as long as you draw breath?  Would you simply settle for the physical with no substance, no future or desire to have anything beyond that? A well written romance must contain these types of scenes including coarse language as well as graphic imagery to be both believable and entertaining, but first and foremost it must tell a substantial story that people can actually relate to, told in a way that evokes emotion, mental participation, and entertainment for the reader."

Rusty Blackwood crosses genres with ease. Her first venture into the competitive world of main-stream fiction was realized in early October 2010 with the release of her debut romance novel, "Passion in Paris: Connections to the Past", the first of two in the ongoing romance/drama. The second part, a romance novel entitled, "Passion in Paris: Directions of the Heart" was released in May 2011. In March of 2012 she released a short story comedy, "The Misadventures Of Derwood Tugbottom". She has also written an eclectic array of Contemporary and Traditional poetry, publishing her first collection in October of 2009 entitled, "Feelings: A Rhythmic Journey in Thought". This title was re-released with additional content in 2011 under the title, "Impressions: Poetic Rhythm in Emotion". "Feelings" was followed in April of 2010 by a collection of assorted short stories for children as well the young at heart, entitled,"Young Minds"  which was later re-released with new added content entitled, "Through the Eyes of Innocence".

"When I read a story," Blackwood continued, "I want to become the heroine - feel her emotions, walk in her shoes and experience her plight; if I have done this by the end of the story then I have been thoroughly entertained, and the author has succeeded in their effort to provide me with the experience I am looking for. I am in no way suggesting that erotica does not elicit entertainment — after all this is the main reason it is written as well as the reason it is read — but do not make the unfortunate mistake in believing that erotica is romance for it is not, the two genres are completely different. Any reader thinking the two are in any way the same has been sadly ill-advised, and is in for a tremendous eye-opening experience. While I appreciate what is happening, it might be important for romantic fiction authors to get back to the basic reason why two people find love in the first place - especially love that can endure all adversity and time without using cover to cover erotica to sell it."

Rusty Blackwood is available for interview in the Toronto area and can be reached using the information below. More information regarding her work is available at the site. Ms. Blackwood also holds a monthly drawing for copies of her works. A signup form is also available at her website.

Ms. Blackwood resides in St. Catharines, Ontario and is the author of a number of romance novels, poetry books and children's books.

Award Winning Author Paula Paul's Fantasy Novel, 'Wizard', Takes First Place In 2012 Readers Favorite Book Awards

Paula Paul writes extraordinary stories that touch the heart and challenge the mind. Her works cross genres with ease and include historical fiction, literary works, mystery and YA novels. 'Wizard' was named a Gold Medal First Place winner in the General Fantasy category

'Wizard', award winning author Paula Paul's latest fantasy novel, was named a Gold Medal First Place winner in the General Fantasy category in the 2012 Readers Favorite Book Awards.

“I'm happy and excited," stated Ms. Paul, "to have won this award, particularly because the judges are readers, not publishers and editors.  Those of us who don't self-publish have to get past the editors and publishers, of course, but it's the readers all writers are aiming to communicate with.  This is the best kind of award to win.”

Paula Paul is a writer who touches the hearts of her readers but also challenges their minds.  She writes novels with both historical and contemporary settings, but all of her novels deal with the foibles, prejudices, misdemeanors and benevolences of humanity that transcend time.  Most of her books, both contemporary and historical, examine social issues. Although some of her novels have told the stories of some of the great figures of history, she is best known for her stories of ordinary people, specifically the people of the southwestern U.S. where she was born and has spent all of her life.

'Wizard' is the story of Merlin's 15-year-old sister Meghan, who is accidentally transported to twenty-first-century America.  She is happy to be out of Avalon where she was being bullied for being a wizard because females are supposed to be witches.  She finds modern America  just as dangerous in some respects for those who are different, and there is no doubt that the new time and place are confusing to her.  Since she's out of practice with her wizardry skills, she finds herself in plenty of trouble.  Although the book is written with a teenage protagonist, it was named a Gold Medal First Place winner in the General Fantasy category.

Paul's literary novels include ‘Inherited Sins’, in which a young widow falls in love with a minister who is married, and ‘Crazy Quilt’, her first literary novel. One third of the royalties from ‘Crazy Quilt’ go to cancer research.

In addition, Paula is the author of ‘The Kings Nun’, an historical fiction novel that is the story of Charlemagne's love for the nun, Amelia of the Ardennes, and an historical novel, ‘Barefoot Girl’, a deep look at a courageous heroine. Mysteries include ‘Half A Mind To Murder’, ‘An Improper Death’, ‘Symptoms of Death’, ‘Leading An Elegant Death’, ‘Deathday Party’ and ‘Red Wine Goes With Murder’.

Winners for the 2012 contest were announced September 1, 2012.  The awards ceremony will be held at 1 P.M. November 17 at the Regency Hotel in Miami, FL.  The ceremony is being held in conjunction with the Miami Book Festival International which runs November 16-18 at the Regency Hotel.

Readers Favorite is one of the fastest growing book review and award contest sites on the Internet. Readers Favorite has earned the respect of renowned publishers like Random House, Penguin and Harper Collins and has received the Best Websites for Authors and Honoring Excellence awards from the Association of Independent Authors. In addition to providing free reviews to authors who range from the first-time self-published authors to seasoned professionals like James Patterson and Nicholas Sparks, the company also hosts a respected annual award contest.

Submissions for the contest are received from independent authors, small publishers, and publishing giants like HarperCollins and Simon & Schuster, with contestants that range from the first-time, self-published author to New York Times best-selling authors like Liz Curtis Higgs, James Rollins, and #1 best-selling author Daniel Silva. They also receive entries from celebrity authors like three-time Emmy award-winner Michael Brown, Paul Michael Glaser from "Starsky & Hutch" fame, and Dr. Ariel Ortiz, featured on Oprah, Dr. Oz and Dateline.

Ms. Paul is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at paulapaul7@yahoo.com. More information regarding the above works, and many more, is available at her website. All of Ms. Paul’s works are available at her website and at Amazon.com.

Paula Griffith Paul was born on her grandparents' cotton farm near Shallowater, Texas, and graduated from a country high school near Maple, Texas. She earned a B.A. in journalism and has worked as a reporter for newspapers in both Texas and New Mexico. She's been the recipient of state and national awards for her work as a journalist.

Author Kevin Gerard Announces Release Of ‘Diego’s Dragon, Book Two: Dragons Of The Dark Rift’, Second In Fantasy Dragon Series Featuring A Hispanic Youth As Hero

Author Kevin Gerard writes Hispanic books for young readers. ‘Dragons Of The Dark Rift’ is the second book in the Diego’s Dragon Adventure series. Gerard’s award winning unique fantasy dragon book series features a young Hispanic boy as the central character

Award winning author Kevin Gerard today announced the release of ‘Diego’s Dragon, Book Two: Dragons Of The Dark Rift’. The book is the second in the Diego’s Dragon Adventure series, following the release of ‘Diego’s Dragon, Book One: Spirits Of The Sun’. ‘Spirits Of The Sun’ recently won an award for best YA fiction at the 14th International Latino Book Awards in New York.

Kevin Gerard’s award winning books are unique in that the central character in the fantasy dragon series is a young Hispanic boy named Diego. The series is targeted to middle school and young adult readers.

In ‘Spirits Of The Sun’, young Diego Ramirez, an 11-year-old Hispanic youth, wins a writing contest. His prize is a statue of a handsome, glistening black dragon. After hearing the name Magnifico spoken aloud by family and friends, Diego awards it to his new dragon. If he only knew how fitting the name was, he might have known what lay ahead. Magnifico is the leader of the Sol Dragones, an assembly of dragons that live within the magical fires of the sun.  As Magnifico comes to life and grows to his mature size, he becomes quite mischievous, playing tricks on Diego to embarrass him. As he discovers his bloodline, however, Diego assumes greater control over his dragon and his destiny.

"Readers will enjoy these books," states Mr. Gerard, "because it is the first fantasy adventure epic series with a Hispanic boy hero. This is a story Hispanic children will love because the main character 'looks like them'."

‘Diego’s Dragon, Book Two: Dragons Of The Dark Rift’, expands the story, as Diego and his girlfriend, Racquel, and their dragons, Magnifico and Estrella, fight to see the true Mayan prophecy come to pass, a time of peace and renewal for all creatures. Vipero, Magnifico's enemy, wants the earth to be destroyed in a galactic upheaval, another interpretation of Mayan folklore. There are three more books in the planning stages, and each will focus on some aspect of Hispanic/Latino history, with fantasy adventure providing the background.

Kevin Gerard is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at Kevin@cryingcougarpress.com. Both books are available at the website and from Amazon.com. More information is available at the website.
